Percussion Ensemble
The Percussion Ensemble class is designed to develop complete, well-rounded percussionists through focused study of the full range of concert percussion instruments and techniques. Students build strong fundamentals on mallet instruments, snare drum, timpani, auxiliary percussion, and more while strengthening musicianship skills such as reading, listening, ensemble awareness, rhythmic accuracy, tone production, and expressive performance.
No prior percussion experience is required. The class is open to experienced percussionists, musicians interested in learning a new instrument, and new students who are ready to begin their musical journey. Through individualized instruction, guided practice, and ensemble collaboration, every student has the opportunity to develop skills, build confidence, and contribute meaningfully to the ensemble.
Throughout the year, students perform as a dedicated percussion ensemble, exploring music that challenges them to work independently, collaborate closely, and grow as confident musicians. Students also serve as an essential part of the larger band program, performing with the concert bands and contributing to the color, energy, and musical depth of each ensemble. Through consistent instruction and meaningful performance opportunities, Percussion Ensemble prepares students to become versatile, dependable, and artistic musicians.
